About Pestalozzi Children’s Village

The Pestalozzi Children’s Village in Trogen, Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, is a place where children and young people can experience intercultural exchange and learn to live together peacefully.

Our foundation is committed to promoting access to high-quality, inclusive education in Switzerland and around the world. We are committed to children’s rights, child protection, and the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: Children and young people should be protected, supported, and actively involved in society. In our projects, we strengthen intercultural understanding, democracy education, inclusion, media literacy, conflict resolution, and respectful treatment of diversity.

Our vision is a world in which children know and exercise their rights and can help shape their own future. We work in partnership with schools, authorities, and parents to create equal opportunities for all – regardless of origin, language, religion, or culture.

Guided by respect, justice, and solidarity, the Pestalozzi Children’s Village creates spaces for encounter and education with head, heart, and hand. In this way, we empower children and young people to become responsible members of a peaceful society.
